Winter Wonderland

Despite the winter storms that stretched from coast to coast last Sunday, we were able to make our trip out to Seattle to spend time with Jen's family for the holidays. We barely got out of Cleveland when a short window of blue skies and sunshine came after having been delayed for an hour and a half. Bill and Jen agreed the take-off was the worst we'd experienced yet (with Caleb "wahooing" behind us), but the remainder of the flight was smooth sailing. Even the landing in Seattle wasn't too bad, just a bit of sliding during taxi.

The next few days brought a beautiful blanket of snow over Jen's folks' place.

When all was said and done, they had 13" packed on the roof.

With the help of their cousin, Haley, Caleb and Kylei took advantage of all that was snow.

How beautiful it was when the skies cleared up!

Then the evening brought another round of snow showers...

Caleb's mission to make the mother of all snowballs.

Mark and Gwen found people their own size to pick on...

Caleb to the rescue...

Sledding at the school.

After her 2nd wind (or was it her 3rd?), Ava found peace and warmth in Caleb's lap. So sweet...

Smothering Nate Dog.

Ella sporting the goofy pirate hat we got her at Disneyworld.

Sushi...mmm. Definitely her Nina's goddaughter.
